Aves Soar Into New School Year
Message From the Superintendent
On behalf of the entire Sycamore staff, please accept my heartfelt thanks for an incredibly positive beginning to the 2017 - 18 school year. Our students, your children, returned to our classrooms with a sense of excitement and hope; excitement at the possibilities a new school year brings and hope that they will be provided the chance to be successful. As I shared with staff on our opening day, our role as educators is to invest in every child, so we can help students to be resilient so their hope turns into success. Our partnership with parents and our community only strengthens our unwavering mission of service to our students.
Moving forward into this school year, we will continue to refine how we monitor students progress that will inform our instructional strategies to ensure the success of your children. We will continue to plan and implement increased Science Technology Engineering Arts and Math (STEAM) opportunities in all our schools as we prepare students to be college and career ready.
Please know how proud I am to serve in a community of learners that values the importance of relationships and a commitment to the growth of every child. Our hashtag #SycamoreStrong speaks to the essence of our Sycamore family and the quality of our schools. I look forward to all members of our family flexing those Sycamore Strong muscles in our service to students.
Thank you for an outstanding opening to the school year and for blessing us with your children.

Food Share Tables
Sycamore has implemented a food share table at all seven school buildings for 2017-18, thanks to the District Go Green Team!
Students that have unopened packaged food, beverages, or whole fruit leftover can place these items on the designated food share table in the cafeteria for other students to pick up. Any remaining food on the share table at the end of lunch will be collected by the CNS Staff and donated to Operation Give Back. The goal of the food share table is to decrease food waste, increase food consumption, and donate leftover food items to hungry kids in need.
