En Lak'Ech: United by 4 B's
Batesville Bobcat Newsletter 04/16/2018
Our campus & community is united by much more than what divides us
You are my other me. Tú eres mi otro yo.
If I do harm to you, Si te hago daño a ti,
I do harm to myself. Me hago daño a mi mismo.
If I love and respect you, Si te amo y respeto,
I love and respect myself. Me amo y respeto yo. (Valdez)

I invite you to take time to think/reflect on these words. I know that I personally draw many parallels to my upbringing and the teachings of the churches I have attended. It is very interesting that a similar message is found within the major texts of every major religious.

I am looking to take our school's momentum in public service this year and move our school's mission to one that embodies the En Lak'Ech and the the 4 B's, especially as it is connected to public/community service. I am a true believer in that the largest impact we can have as a school unit, is through the partnerships we establish with our students, their families, and the community as a whole. We will work hard over these next few months to shape this desire into a clear vision. I am excited at the potential we have to do even more amazing things moving forward!
