NEW SCHOOL COMMUNITY COUNCIL MEMBERS

We would like to thank the four parents who completed a candidate form to serve on the SCC this year and next year. Because we had four openings and only four parents applied, there is no need for an election. Karina Landward will continue to serve for another year. She will be joined by Val McQuiston, Marie Smith, Sharlae Rich and Tom Gallegos. The employee members of our council are Scott Hughes, Tauna Connors and Janet Crowley. Our first meeting will be held on September 29th at 5pm via Zoom. Thank you to ALL parents for supporting our efforts at school.

EVENTS FROM LAST FRIDAY

For many of our families, last Friday morning was an intense and frightening experience. Our thoughts are with all of the families affected in the neighborhoods surrounding the hostage situation. Reading Elementary is blessed to have access to a wonderful school counselor (Angela Brown) and school psychologist (Suzanne Stoker) who are available to help students who may additional support. Please let us know at the school if your child is struggling. This year, we also have access to a Family Service Worker, Angie Briggs. Her role is to help families going through challenges of any kind. We love your children and want to do our part to help them feel safe. The links below include some articles and information for families. We hope they can be helpful to some of you.

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO DONATED TO OUR NATIONAL DAY OF SERVICE!
