Go-Kart Support Needed
Hello everyone, we're the StarGazers, and we're reaching out to our ARS school community for support with our senior capstone project: building a Go-Kart. This project is a continuation of the work started by previous students, and it's all about learning mechanics, powering the kart's motor with batteries, and researching creative solutions. We're proud to carry on the legacy of our predecessors and we're committed to diversify our understanding of car mechanics, while promoting women in engineering.
Our goal is to complete the kart, make improvements to its design, and have the thrill of racing it around a track. However, we've hit a bump in the road with our budget and would be incredibly grateful for any donations you can offer to help us reach our goal.
If you're interested in learning more about our project or contributing, please visit our GoFundMe page. Thank you for your support!
Student Visionaries of the Year
To our ARS Community,
Six of our Senior Stars are part of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's seven week fundraising competition between area high schools. It's called Student Visionaries of the Year and this is the FIRST year ARS has a team.
The team is doing this in honor of AnnaCate's sister, Mary Elizabeth "M.E" who is a 2020 ARS graduate and 7 years cancer free. Members of the team include Kate Johnson, Alondra Garcia, Sienna Cone, Helena Hamilion, Maddie Ono and AnnaCate Powell.
We are having a shopping give back at Kendra Scott on Saturday, 2/17 from 1-3 (at SOCO location) where 20% of proceeds go to their campaign.
This Monday, the team will announce a contest at Monday's assembly for the grade that raises the most money will get a free dress out day.... no uniforms.
Please support our cause. Thank you.

Attention Families: AISD Chromebooks needed for Testing
***
Students Need School Chromebooks for Testing
Students will be needing school-issued Chromebooks for upcoming testing. If they do not have one, they need to come by the library to check one out. Please help your child avoid an emergency on testing days by encouraging them to come to the library ASAP. If they do not have a school Chromebook on testing days, they are still required to take the test, so we may have to have them make up the test on other days.
Contact Minda Anderson or Carey Mayo, ARS Student Device Managers, with any questions: minda.anderson@austinisd.org and carey.mayo@austinisd.org.
