A new school year is in full swing and there's a lot happening at LMS.
There are a few health-related notes I'd like to share with you.
- Illnesses are already emerging among our students- stomach virus, strep, flu, and Covid (a word we were all hoping we wouldn't be hearing as much this year)!
- Masks, social distancing, and FREQUENT handwashing are crucial to minimize the spread of germs/illnesses.
- If your child is having symptoms (Ex. cough, sore throat, fever, vomiting, nausea, prolonged headache...) keep him/her at home.
- COVID- If a child has a positive test- MUST quarantine for 10 days. Notify the nurse ASAP of the result. I can only begin contact tracing if/when I am notified.
- If your child has been exposed to someone who is confirmed
positive (< 3 ft + >15 minutes within 24 hr period) child must quarantine. Notify nurse for return to school date.
-If your child, or anyone in the home, has been tested and waiting on the result, the child must quarantine. Notify nurse for return school date.
-If your child has tested in order to discontinue quarantine early, I must be notified BEFORE the child returns to school, and I MUST
receive a copy of the test result.
Many of you have questions and concerns about health-related issues, so please reach out to me. Please remember, I cannot and will not diagnose an illness. I can only give professional advice and basic treatment options.
I hope you and your child(ren) stay well and have a wonderful school year!!!

Title I Information
Lakeview Middle believes that parent and family engagement means the participation of parents in regular two-way, and meaningful communication involving student academic learning and other school activities. Our school hosts regular meetings throughout the year to facilitate this process. In addition to these meetings, parents have the right to request additional meetings and workshops they feel will benefit their child. The Parent Involvement Coordinator will take requests to the administration to see how these requests can be incorporated into the school’s Plan of Action.
Also, parents can request a meeting with their child’s teacher or the administration if they have questions or concerns about their child. Parents can call the school at (706) 866-1040 or email the teacher via the school website (www.lms.catoosa.k12.ga.us).

Teachers introduce 6th graders to Houses!
Mr. Blackwood
Ms. Emerson
Mr. McCole
Mr. C. Phillips
introducing our students to the LMS House Program!
Altruismo-The black house is known as "The Givers." They care deeply about lifting others up, but they also maintain a fiercely competitive spirit and pride.
Amistad- The red house, whose name means "Friendship." A group of individuals that are quiet but powerful, they are known most for their kindness of heart.
Isibindi-The green house, whose name means "Courage." While new students might be quiet or shy at first, the longer that they are in the House, the more they begin to display the characteristics of strength and bravery.
Reveur-The blue house is known as "The Dreamers." The members who fill this group are students filled with freedom and wild abandon who recognize their dreams and will let nothing stand in the way of achieving them

News from Office B Counselors
Our two counselors this year are Mr. Landreth and Ms. Jessica. If you see us out and about, please feel free to stop us and say hi! We are so looking forward to getting to know all of the new students, and reconnecting with the students who were here last year.
Don't forget to log into the Counselor Classroom! The classroom code is yntstgq. In the classroom, you can report bullying, ask to speak with a counselor and watch for any upcoming events we may post. Feeling sad? Feeling overwhelmed? We understand! While school is a wonderful platform to learn and grow, we also recognize it can be a little scary sometimes. Don't hesitate to reach out!
Looking forward to a great year here at LMS! It's great to be a Lakeview Warrior!
