Board Notes

August 2015 ~ Volume 3, No. 1

The Meeting in Review

During the Board's August 25 meeting, Lower Providence Township Chief of Police Francis Carroll provided the Board with an update on the township's emergency planning efforts around the upcoming World Meeting of Families and Papal visit in late September. A detailed Powerpoint presentation can be found on the township's website at www.lowerprovidence.org.

At this time, there is a possibility that schools may be advised to close, open late, or dismiss early on Friday, September 25 and potentially, Monday, September 28 as well. In order to allow families to begin planning and making necessary arrangements for the care of their children, the district distributed a message via SchoolMessenger on August 27. Once a decision is made, families will be notified via SchoolMessenger call as well as the website and social media.

During his report to the Board, Dr. Zerbe provided updates on the status of the MHS fields improvement project, work of the School Consolidation Committees, updates to the public on PSSA Testing sent via SchoolMessenger and posted to the website on August 13, and 2014-2015 Board and Superintendent's Goals. This information can also be found on our website at www.methacton.org.

All other items listed on the August 25 agenda were approved.
