Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition (MBCC) Student Volunteering Opportunity on June 20th and August 15th
This volunteering opportunity will count toward students’ community service hours during 2020 and will serve as great resume boosters for future job and college applications. Students will receive a signed certificate for their volunteer hours from MBCC.
MBCC’s statewide Against the Tide events will be held on Saturday, June 20th at Hopkinton State Park and on Saturday, August 15th in Brewster at Nickerson State Park. These inspiring events are great ways for students to become active members of their community and support a cause that impacts many Massachusetts families.
Opportunities to volunteer include the following:
- Volunteer long-term to help promote Against the Tide events by joining a combined junior high, high school, and college student committee promoting MBCC’s annual, statewide Against the Tide multisport event. This opportunity will only require roughly 3 hours of students’ time each month and has multiple components they can take part in:
- Adopting a town near where they live and posting Against the Tide posters throughout the months leading up to the event
- Assist with social media marketing
- Helping with event outreach and volunteer recruitment
- Committee members are required to volunteer at a minimum of one Against the Tide event (Hopkinton 6/20/20 or Brewster 8/15/20)
Students interested in volunteering and/or becoming a committee member, should email MBCC’s Executive Director, Cheryl Osimo, at cosimo@mbcc.org and college committee chair, Charles McGinn, at mbcc.charles@gmail.com.

Share the gift of reading
This year, the Framingham High School Library has had our highest print book circulation ever recorded! If you'd like to share the gift of reading with the students of FHS, consider donating a book to our Library.
We have an Amazon wishlist, if you'd like to purchase a new book.
Or, if you have any gently used books at home that we could add to our collection and/or give away to FHS students, please drop them off at the FHS Library. Thank you for your generosity!
Community Closet
The Bilingual Education Department had a Swap Day on November 16th and it was a success! We received a lot of donations from the whole Framingham community and we are truly thankful for everyone's generosity. Hundreds of people attended and everything was gone by the end of the event.
This is a great thing to celebrate, however, our ongoing Community Closet is completely empty. We are still collecting winter coats, hats, gloves, boots, and scarves - all sizes - for our students. Once we have the donations, feel free to contact us if/when you have a student in need.
We will have a box in each school to make it easier for families to drop off these items. The boxes were donated by a former EL student at FPS.
We hope we can count on you!
Thank You!

Idling in parking lots is prohibited
Idling in the parking lots is blocking access to teacher and student parking spaces. As a result, teachers and students are late to school. I respectfully ask that you avoid blocking parking spaces in the parking lots. Thank you for your support and understanding.
Student Dismissals 24 hour notice please
Please email Ms. Halliday (challiday@framingham.k12.ma.us) or send in a dismissal note at least 24 hours in advance. Please do not call the school to dismiss your student unless it is an emergency. This will assist us with a timely and orderly process for student dismissals. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
