What was the Christmas Truce?

The Christmas Truce was one of the most remarkable events of World War One.

The Christmas Truce happened around Christmas 1914. Troops from Britain and Germany ventured into No Man's Land hoping for peace for one day. Fortunately, there was. Some famous photos were taken as well.

What Happened During the Truce?

Both sides exchanged gifts, food, sung carols and released prisoners. They treated each other like their own sides. They also played soccer during the time of the truce.

How did the Truce end?

The Truce ended when two British soldiers were killed by German snipers. After that, fighting started and the war started again on the Western Front.
