A Note From The Third Grade Team
It has been such a pleasure getting to know each of our new students. Now is really when we start getting into our guided math rotations, reading and writing workshop, and science labs. All of the students have shown that they have learned our third grade expectations and procedures and are ready to take on new challenges. We are super excited about our fall fundraiser Ride’s Reading Adventure, please consider donating to our endeavor. that will directly benefit your child

Curriculum Highlights
Upcoming Information
Reading:
We are beginning our unit on traditional literature including fairy tales, fables, and folk tales.
Writing:
We will be publishing our final personal narrative piece for a major grade, and starting our new fiction unit. Word study spelling list QUIZ every Friday. (Find the list of words in your child's homework journal)
Math:
We will start our addition and subtraction unit on Monday. Please practice x2 facts with your student. All students were given red flash cards to practice at home. Problem Solving QUIZ 9/22 joining (addition) and separating (subtraction)
Science:
Changes in states of matter lab will be on Monday 9/19
Social Studies:
Communities (urban, rural, suburban) unit begins on Monday
Homework:
Your third grader is assigned homework on Monday, all homework is due Friday.
UPDATE: Be sure your child dresses in their House colors on Wednesdays! We would like to keep Fridays saved for Ride Spirit Day!
Working Hard
Remember....
- Please remember to keep the red folder in your child's backpack. EMPTY items from the red folder.
- Snack is at 10:00, please remember to send in snack. There is no class snack provided for third grade.
- Send in a reusable water bottle daily.

Dreambox: Students in 4th grade are assigned 30 minutes of Dreambox per day and have a goal of completing 5-7 lessons a week.
