A Message to our Bears...

Primary Bears-

We have come to the end of the first nine weeks. We want to take a moment to thank our wonderful Primary community for your support, love, and flexibility. In August, we faced so many changes and adjustments to what we thought was "normal." Despite so much worry and change, we have worked together to truly have a wonderful first nine weeks. Our students are learning and growing. Our teachers are adjusting and working hard to help each student reach his/her potential. It has been a great team effort. Thank you parents for your support of us!

Our online book fair opens today! Please see button link below. Support our fabulous library while also stocking up on great books! All books ship to your home.

Next Monday, October 19, is a school holiday. Our teachers will use the day to schedule parent conferences. Please reach out to your child's teacher if you have questions or concerns.

Enjoy your 3 day student holiday weekend!

Sincerely,

Shelley Keck

Deadline October 27: Honoring our Veterans

La Vernia Primary School students and staff want to honor and thank all of our United States Veterans. Since we won’t be able to hold our traditional Veteran’s Day program, we are asking for you to send a photo of your veteran to us so it can be included in our Veteran’s Day slideshow. If you want to honor a veteran, please email a scanned copy of a photograph to carrie.walker@lvisd.org. Please include the veteran’s name, military branch and rank. Photos need to be received by October 27 in order to be included. These photos will be put in a slideshow and shared on the school’s Facebook page and website. Please do not send hard copies with your student- we can only include emailed photos. If you have any questions, you may email Mrs. Walker at carrie.walker@lvisd.org.

We are grateful for the sacrifices our veterans and their families have made for our country!

Car Line Reminders

A couple of car line tips:

1. In the morning- use either car line! Pick the shortest line! Please have your child ready to get out quickly to keep the line moving.

2. In the afternoons, you must have a school issued car tag. Please send $5 with a note if you need another tag.

What to do if your child is sick?

Here is a quick guideline for what to do if your child is sick and you aren't sure what to do:

1. Have child stay home.

2. Consult your family pediatrician regarding concerns. They should be able to provide guidance upon when to come back to school.

3. Email the nurse if you have further questions and she will provide information. priclinic@lvisd.org

How does your child go home?

Transportation changes must be called into the front office by 2:30 each day. Mrs. Kathy communicates to the classroom teacher. Do not email, text, or send a Remind message to a teacher with changes. If the teacher is out sick, the message won't make it to the substitute.

Frequent changes cause confusion and worry for our children.

If you must pick your child up before the end of the school day, please stay in your car and call the school office at 830-779-6660. Pick ups must occur prior to 2:30!

Lost and Found

We have placed our lost and found outside the front doors- this way in the evenings/weekends you can stop by if your child is missing something. Please label everything with your child's name- jackets, lunch boxes, water bottles. We check for labels and will return items to owner. Your items miss you!
