First 2 six weeks of art class

During the first two six weeks of art class we have learned about Line, Shape, Form, and Value. We learned about different types of lines, expressive line, and contour line. For shape we learned about organic shapes and geometric shapes. We made sculptures focusing on Shape and Form. We have also learned about the artists Henri Matisse and Peter Reginato while making these projects. Most recently we did a lesson on Dia de los Muertos learning about the history and the culture. We drew sugar skulls using our understanding of line, shape, form, and value and some students even had their art on display at the Tyler Museum of Art. The 7th and 8th graders drew an alligator together as practice for grid drawing. Each student received one or more squares to complete which fit together like a puzzle to create an alligator drawing. We gave one of the drawings to Mr. Kaiser and one to the school library.

The rest of the semester we will focus on the rest of the art elements; Texture, Color, and Space.
