Save the Date – Graduation 2022
Hello families of the Class of 2022,
In these first weeks of school, it has been incredibly gratifying to be able to return to some of our treasured fall traditions. It is particularly fun to see the Class of 2022 engaging in things like their senior year Homecoming Week and the return of the pep fest, football game and dance. We know how important these traditions are to our seniors. We also know this year will go fast and many of you are looking ahead to graduation.
Please save this date for our Commencement Ceremony – Saturday, June 11, 2022.
We are just setting our date now as we had to determine a venue. Current class sizes mean we have outgrown our ability to host graduation on our campus – both with outdoor and indoor options. Last year, we were at Mariucci Arena and we had great feedback on the experience. Mariucci traditionally hosts another district on Friday evening, so we now have Saturday.
The time of the ceremony is not yet set, and we welcome your input. We’re asking families to share their preferences with us on start times for the Commencement Ceremony through this 1-minute survey. We’ll set the time, with your input, and communicate the details by the end of October.
Please also mark your calendar for October 28. We’ll be hosting an evening for families of seniors focused on everything you need to know to complete the FAFSA Financial Aid application. This event will begin at 6 p.m. with a general financial aid presentation by Michael Crider, a financial aid representative for Dakota County Technical College and Inver Hills Community College. At 6:30 p.m., we will break into small groups in our computer lab to support families who want help completing the Free Application For Student Aid (FAFSA) that evening. Watch your email for an invitation and link to sign up for this event.
Throughout the year, we’ll be in touch with updates like these. We’ll increase the frequency of these updates as we get closer to the spring and graduation. Thanks for supporting your senior through this exciting year!
