Downside Of Digital Communication
Spam
Spam
Unsolicited emails or messages. They can cost money and resources, like emails or messages sent over the internet uses bandwidth and data, or text messages which can cost money if you don't have an unlimited data plan. Spam can also take up your time, while you might only have twenty emails that you need to see, the amount of spam messages you have to go through to find them can take up large amounts of time, and software downloads from the links in the spam message can have hidden malware or a virus. Some of the other links in those messages and emails can take you to an official looking website where it will have you fill out a form of some kind to steal and use your information to steal money or to sell your information to other spammers. Some of the ways to avoid, prevent, or work with the spam are, use a one-time use email address or one address just for that purpose, don't reply to the email (they will see that you're willing to click on their links and they will sell your information to other spammers), or you could use a spam filter, which a lot of email sites already have in place when you sign up, but if not, you probably might want to get one.
