M.c esher lived in rome for 11 years, and he would travel italy and scetch. He would make schetchings over 2000, and he would make tessalations. By using black and white pieces he made the mathematical seem possible. His drawings caught the eye of people. Altough he had no mathematical training he used mathematical principals in his artwork.

The different tranformations in a tessalation is translate, rotate, and reflect. When you refect somthing you flip it across the y or x axis like a mirror image. When you rotate somthing you turn a figure around a point whether its 90 degrees or 180 degrees. When you translate an object you slide it over just like moving it from one spot to another you dont flip or rotate or do anything to it. Tessalations tessalations must have no blank space everthing has to be touching and no overalping.
