Settings
The settings of Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children range in variety. Where we start the story is a lazy summer evening in sunny California. They then take an international trip to a small island off the coast of Wales, where it frequently rains or is cloudy, changing the dates from present day to September 3, 1940 on a continuous loop.
Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children.
Ransom Riggs's 'Home for Peculiar Children' is a fast pace, lively book portraying the adventures -and many dangers- that young Jacob Portman has to face after his grandfather's mysterious death. Bound by sheer will and determination, he sets off to find the place of his grandfather's stories, hoping against all hope for someone to explain. What he finds instead has chilled him to the bone. What scares him the most is that he's looking for dead people - that might still be alive.
