Our Weekly Class Newsletter September 30- October 9
Weekly Note from Mrs. London
We made it through the last of the choppy weeks and we are looking forward to getting into a good routine with full weeks of school ahead!! This week we started our Global Read Aloud where we will read a different book by Amy Rosenthal each week and connect with other classes all over the world! This week we read Chopsticks and had our own chopstick race in teams! We have also been matched up with another second grade class in Jenks, Oklahoma and today we got to meet them through Skype and shared what we learned from the book! Ask your children for more details! I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend.
Shabbat Shalom!

What Did We Learn This Week?
Language Arts
Math
Last week we finished our unit on place value! We wrapped up that unit with a fun munchy math activity that used graham crackers (100's), pretzel sticks (10's) and marshmallows (1's). We all agreed it was super yummy! This week, we began learning about money. We reviewed all the coins, their values, and how to add money and show money of different amounts using coins. Our goal is to use the fewest amount of coins to show an amount. We will continue to work with money next week as well!
