The Founding of Massachusetts
Massachusetts was founded in 1630 by the Puritans. They founded the Massachusetts Bay Colony/Boston. The Puritans headed to Massachusetts to escape persecution from the Anglican Church. This event was called the Great Migration.
The Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre took place on March 5th, 1770. It was a deadly riot between the Redcoats and the Boston colonists. 5 colonists were killed because of this.

The Boston Tea Party took place in December 16, 1773.

Massachusetts is a part of the New England Colonies. Its main products are fur, fish, and lumber. The first town that was founded in Massachusetts was Boston. The leader of the group of Puritans that founded this colony was John Winthrop.
