We have entered into the our study of the events during the American Revolution.
Also, some recommended reading for the American Revolutionary Period.
Here are some handouts that you can do with your students.
Books:
- Johnny Tremain
- The Witch of Blackbird Pond
- My Brother Sam is Dead (There is some language that I edit if/when I read it to the kids, but very good to read with your child, to help them better understand the life during the war.)
- Fever, 1793
Wax Muesum Dress
Dear parents,
The fifth grade is working on a very exciting project as a part of our American Revolution Unit. We will be doing a Bilingual Wax Museum on March 24. Each student is required to dress in period dress for this event. I am attaching some ideas to come up with a costume. Please do not feel as if you have to spend a lot of money. There are numerous ways to do this for very little money.
Please let me know if you have any questions. There will be more details about the event very soon!
Thank you for your support,
Jenna Buell

-Tube socks, soccer socks, knee high socks of solid color

Queridos padres,
Jenna Buell
