Wombats are Australian marsupials mammals. Their scientific name is vombatus urinus.

Wombats don’t have many relatives. One relative is the koala. Wombats are very lazy they don’t do or eat much.

There are three species of wombats: northern hairy nose, southern hairy nose and the common wombat. These wombats live in different places. The hairy nose lives in Queensland but the common wombat lives in NSW.

Wombats live in burrows and woodlands, rainforest wombats eat leaves, grass and green poo. Dangers to wombats include cars and a dingo packs.

Wombats are amazingly strong animals.
