Events for Teens in September

Be a Teen Volunteer

We have several opportunities for teens to volunteer at the Main Library this semester. Every time you volunteer you help out your community and can earn service hours.

* Book Besties--sign-up to be a reading mentor to a younger kid, age 4-8. We will meet on Tuesday afternoons after school from 4:30-5:15

* Maker Mondays--for high school students: sign up to volunteer to help kids with maker projects each week. 5:00-6:30, starting September 14th

* Adventure Time--sign-up to help out weekly with our program for elementary age kids. On Thursdays from 4-5 pm.

Teen Book & a Movie Club: Thursday, September 10th @ 5:30 pm

For our first meeting this school year, we'll watch "Insurgent" and talk about upcoming reads/films. Pizza, popcorn & snacks for all! Main Library

Teen Writer's Studio: Thursday, September 17th @ 6:00 pm

For teens who love to write and would like to share their stories and get feedback from other teen writers. Bring what you've been working on and we'll help you make it even better! Main Library

Gaming @ Mahan Library: Thursday, September 24th from 4:30-6:30 pm

Come hang out at the Mahan Library and try out one of the many games will have for people to play. Snacks provided.

Maker Mondays: middle school students who are interested in science, construction, and just making all kinds of cool stuff--come check out this new program at the Main Library on Mondays from 5-6:30. We'll kick-off with a "Family Science Night" on September 21st, and then meet every Monday after that. Main Library
