A.L.i.C.E. Safety Response Training Update
We broke into grade level groups where staff walked students through the philosophy as well as provided opportunities for students to dialogue. After those sessions, we conducted a building-wide drill, where students and staff practiced Lock-down and barricade. There were not simulations of gun activity, only an announcement to inform the school about the potential scenario so that they could respond.
We encourage you to communicate with your student about what he or she learned and feel free to contact the office if you would like to speak further about the philosophy.
In addition, we will be offering a parent information session on February 28th during parent teacher conferences. It will be a session for which you can sign up with the PTC Fast system or you can simply show up. We would love to discuss our approach to crisis here at Spooner High and answer any of your questions.
