O'Neil's News

Throughout the first weeks of school I am always reminded of what a supportive community we have. Many families were present at our Back to School Bash and on our first day of school. We feel fortunate to share in your child's education.

This year we are celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Columbia School District. As I greeted students on the first day of school in their classrooms, we discussed the influential people and events that shaped our district. Students are looking forward to the activities we have planned for the year in an effort to honor 50 years of our district.

Some of special events these include:

  • District Pep Assembly for Homecoming
  • School Spirit Poetry Contest
  • Essay Contest about the history of our district
  • District Wide Time Capsule

CES and CUES use the acronym POWERS to honor the excellence we see in our students and staff. Every day we celebrate students who exemplify these characteristics.
Students work hard and demonstrate a great deal of pride in showing their POWERS.

Columbia Central Fight Song

Fight, Central, down the field
Fight for victory
Fight, Eagles, never yield
We're with you oh varsity

Onward with banners bold
In our hearts, you are the best,
Fight for the blue and gold,
Down the field for CHS,

Varsity! Varsity!
Eagles, we're proud of that nickname!

Hear our song!
Loud and strong!
Central is going to win this game.

Come on and ... (repeat)

Listen to our fight song!
