TMS Teacher of the Year 2016

Congratulations to our 2016 Timberview Teacher of the Year, Marisa Galt! Ms. Galt has been our theatre director since we opened in 2010, and it has been incredible to witness the growth of the theatre program over the past six years. Ms. Galt spends countless hours in rehearsals, TMS performances, and supporting our students in their work as they go on to high school. Many former TMS students have seen remarkable success in high school theatre, and we believe the foundation Ms. Galt helped them develop has a lot to do with that success!

The TMS Teacher of the Year is selected through a staff nomination and voting process. Finalists submit an essay for the entire TMS staff to view prior to voting. The Timberview Teacher of the Year will complete the State Teacher of the Year application and submit it for consideration for Keller ISD Teacher of the Year. We are grateful to have Ms. Galt represent us!

TMS Support Staff Member of the Year

All classroom aides, office staff, custodial, and cafeteria personnel are considered for the Timberview Support Staff Member of the Year award. These are the staff members who might not be as visible to parents and the community but are the backbone of our school and a big part of who we are.

Through a faculty and staff nomination and voting process, Mrs. Susan Allen was named our TMS Support Staff Member of the Year! Susan serves as our Counseling Assistant, and her responsibilities include supporting our counseling team, student registration, and a host of other responsibilities directly related to student and family services.

Mrs. Allen has been with Timberview for all of our 6 years and with Keller ISD for 24 years.

Congratulations, Susan!

"Anatomy of Gray" Coming Soon!

The next TMS Theatre production is right around the corner! The competition piece for the 17th annual KISD One Act Play Festival will be "Anatomy of Gray" by Jim Leonard Jr. Please join us at Fossil Ridge HS on February 20 at 1:00 PM and February 25, 26, and 27 at 7:30 PM back on our own stage at TMS.

When June's father dies, she prays for a healer to come to the small town of Gray, so that no one will ever suffer again; the next thing she knows, there's a tornado, and a man in a balloon blows into town claiming to be a doctor. At first, the new doctor cures anything and everything, but soon the town's preacher takes ill with a mysterious plague. And then the plague begins to spread. Set in Indiana during the late 1800's, deals with death, loss, love, and healing in a unique coming of age story.

World War II Veteran Speaker

Mr. Don Graves visited our 6th graders Monday. Mr. Graves is a Marine veteran of World War II in the Battle of the Pacific, and he was present when the famous raising of the flag on Iwo Jima photo was taken. Mr. Graves was a flame thrower who carried a 70 lb. pack of fuel on his back and cleared the way for U.S. Troops to advance upon the Japanese Imperialist Army.

Mr. Graves is 91 years old and began telling about his experiences during the depression and WWII only about 5 years ago.

We are proud to have him as part of the Timberview Family and we thank him for our service to our country.

Just drop off your unwanted items and put in the big blue bin, and please- tell your friends- this is a super easy way for the school to raise money!
