Spotlight on our Pasifika students

SLANZA PD Wednesday 18 September 5pm

Guest speaker David Riley, Reading Warrior

Following a welcome by members of Dilworth School Choir, we will have the opportunity to focus on books and other resources available for our Pasifika students.

David Riley, writer and teacher will present his books and his amazing work as The Reading Warrior, engaging our Pasifika students.

David's talk will cover:

“How we can learn more about our Pasifika students

How we can help them in our libraries with the resources that are available.

What is available?

What should we be using in Primary or Secondary school settings?"

David will have his books for sale - Yvette Williams and Tokelau Heroes are among his more recently published.

Phillippa McKenzie will inform/refresh us on National Library resources. It would be great to have a device to try these out, following Phillipa's instruction on the big screen. A phone will work well. (Change of presenter due to unforeseen circumstance).

Bring along your order books as SSAB (Samoan Stationery & Books Ltd) will also bring a selection of books for sale.
