Emerge Leadership Circle
Emerge Leadership Circle is a weekly workshop program held each semester to help students build their foundational leadership skills while developing a personal leadership philosophy.
By the conclusion of Emerge, participants should be able to:
- Define their personal leadership style
- Define leadership in their own terms
- Demonstrate effective public speaking
- Clarify their personal code of values
Want to nominate students for the Emerge program? Complete our online nomination form by September 13.
Students who wish to apply for a spot in the Emerge program can complete an online application beginning September 11. Applications are due September 23! Apply online by clicking this link!
*Students do not need to be nominated to apply for the Emerge program.
Emerge Leadership Circle is scheduled for Wednesdays from 4-6pm in the Student Center, North/South Room. Dates are as follows: October 9, 16, 23, 30 and November 6, 13, 20
Can't make it this semester? Applications for the spring program will be open in November.
OSILD Open House

Public Speaking 101
Enactus's Zoe Bates presented a workshop on public speaking at this past February's Mass College of Liberal Arts 24th Annual Student Leadership Conference. She shared with us some of her tips for becoming a successful public speaker.
Faculty | Tanya Mears
Worcester State Profesor Tanya Mears has been a dedicated member of the WSU community both inside and outside the classroom. She works closely with students to develop both their academic and their leadership skills. Dr. Mears took some time to sit down with us her involvement here on campus.
Leadership Philosophies
At the culmination of each semester’s Engage Leadership Circle, students share their personal leadership philosophies. These philosophies are the culmination of a semester’s learning and reflection, and each is as individual as the participant themselves.
