Buniewicz Classroom News - 11/2
Mr. Buniewicz's 5th and 6th Grade Newsletter
End of the first quarter
The start of a new quarter is the start of a brand new slate! The past few weeks students have been working hard on turning in what was missing. Liz and I are working on a strategy to help students manage the workload when it comes to missing assignments. If there is anything that I can do to help, please don't hesitate to let me know.
Next Week...
- Monday 11/5 - 2nd Quarter Begins
- Wednesday 11/7 - Half Day - Parent Teacher Conferences

5th Grade - A Review of Two Weeks of Learning!
Language Arts - Students have been working hard at their reading and writing the past few weeks. Along with working at our normal Wonders, students have finished up their personal narratives. Check out the narratives in their Friday Folders!
We have continued reading Amal Unbound and doing activities surrounding that book, including posting on Flipgrid and Skyping with other classrooms.
Social Studies - 5th grade has continued learning about our government - the three branches, checks and balances, and a close studying of the Constitution. We will have a quiz Thursday next week about all that we've been learning. Look for a study guide to come home on Monday.

6th Grade - A Review of Two Weeks of Learning!
Language Arts - Students have been chugging along working with our Wonders reading series! In addition to normal classwork, we are working on our personal narratives that should be done next week. We have continued reading our Global Read Aloud book and doing activities surrounding the book.
Social Studies - Students worked hard on finishing their projects about how to improve Mackinac Island. As a conclusion to this geography unit, students presented their ideas to a special guest, Mayor Doud! A huge thanks to her for coming into the classroom to hear out our presentations!
I did record the presentations if you are interested in watching them. The links are provided here (Part 1) and here (Part 2).
We are now moving on to our Population unit. We will investigate what factors affect the population of nations as well as various trends around the world!
