Hello and Happy Dr. Seuess Day!!!
Yes the weather is cold and wet, but I am confident for better weather soon! PLEASE be sure that seasonal appropriate clothing comes to school (long sleeves/some kind of jacket). I don't want the kids to start getting sick!
What's Happening This Week!
We will have a lot of exciting learning this week in 2nd grade! For Science/Social Studies the focus will be on Goods & Services; Needs vs. Wants. For math, the class will have opportunities to identify shapes, construct and measure area. For phonics, the class will practice vowel teams: ai, ay, ee, ea, oa, ow, oe. For spelling, Unit 19 - must, because, does, part, even. In reading & writing, your children will work fictional story traits, writing a fictional story (using the 6 traits); comprehension strategies: making connections, visualizing, questioning, determining importance, & inferring. PLEASE participate in BYOD! please download the app Nearpod.

Saturday, March 28th - Spring Carnival
Wednesday, April 22nd - Second Grade Field Trip
Mark your calendars for our Field Trip April 22nd. If you are planning to chaperone you must be an approved LISD Volunteer.
