Principal's Message
End of Quarter Reflection and School Report Card
Dear Trojan Families,
As we reach the end of the first quarter, it's a perfect time to reflect on your student's progress and address any challenges they may be facing. We encourage you to engage in open conversations with your student and collaborate with their teachers to ensure their success.
We also want to share our school's recent report card with you. Our overall score for Northwestern stands at 51 out of 100, which places us in the average range. However, we firmly believe that our school is more than average, and with your support, we are committed to reaching Excellence. The report card is based on seven key indicators, each with its own weight in the calculation. These indicators are as follows:
1. Academic Achievement (25 points)
- This indicator includes EOC scores for Algebra 1 and English 2.
- NHS 2023 points earn=10.46
2. Graduation Rate (19 points)
- This reflects the percentage of students who graduate from high school within four full school years of their initial enrollment.
- NHS 2023 points earn=15.89
3. College/Career Readiness (19 points)
- This indicator encompasses various factors such as ACT/SAT scores, AP/IB exams, CTE completers, WorkKeys, WIN, and ASVAB scores.
- NHS 2023 points earn=10.46
We are actively working on a plan to address these key areas and improve our school's overall performance. Please review the following links to learn more about our report card website or pdf.
In addition to academic performance, we want to emphasize the importance of student attendance. Regular attendance is a critical factor in a student's success. If your child is absent for any reason, please ensure that you submit a note (parent or doctor) within three days upon their return to school.
Your involvement and support are vital to our students' growth and success, and we are grateful for your partnership in helping Northwestern excel. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.
Thank you for being part of the Northwestern community, and Together, we will work towards achieving excellence.
Sincerely,
Michael Abraham
Principal
