PRINCIPAL'S CORNER
This week I will be holding Ensemble meetings (parent committees). I will be meeting with the Marketing Ensemble (committee) and the Library Ensemble (committee). The school needs lots of parent help so don't hesitate to get involved. We also have other Ensembles that you can work with if Marketing and Library do not interest you. Below is a list of all our Ensembles.
Family Gatherings Ensemble
Safety Ensemble
Fall Carnival Ensemble
Library Ensemble
Marketing Ensemble
If you would like to help with any of the Ensembles, please email me at levans@advantagearts.org. Once you send me an email with information about the Ensemble you would like to work on, I will send the information about the Ensemble and when we will be meeting. I look forward to working with the parents.
Thank you,
Principal Lisa Evans
You don't have to be good at art!!
Mrs. Lambert, our Kindergarten teacher, shares how she will help her students learn to spell words with art.
Final Vote for Name the Cub
Thank you to everyone that sent in their suggestions to name our cub mascot. All the suggestions for names were great. We formed a committee to choose two names for a final vote. Now we need your input and ask you to vote for the final name of the cub. The voting will close Monday, May 4th at 5pm. We will announce the name of our mascot next week in our weekly newsletter. We will also announce the person who named the cub and their prize.
Please click on the link below and vote.
The two names are:
1. Scout - Scout is someone who is sent to discover, gather and evaluate information.
A scout is basically someone who explores and discovers.
2. Arthur - ART in Arthur

At Home Activities - Reading Fort
Reading Fort
Want to get your kid excited about reading while staying indoors? Build a reading fort together! This can change up the mundane routine while only using things around the house.
The first thing you and your kid will want to do is gather ample pillows and blankets to a large sitting area. The bigger and thinner the blanket, the better. Then locate sturdy furniture to hang the blankets on to design your fort. Couches, kitchen chairs, and benches are all great options. Stretch your blankets across the furniture. You might also need to use books as weights on corners of the blankets to help them stay in place. Try to make everything as study as possible to reduce the chance of it falling on a kiddo! (Tip: I used an extended music stand as the middle pillar to our fort. I made it stable by wedging one of its feet under a couch. This added some needed height.) Leave an open door for your kid to get in and out. The last thing you need to do is make sure the bottom of the fort is comfy. Use fluffy blankets and soft pillows to make the fort floor as luxurious as possible. All then it’s time to send your kid inside with a great book!

- Heart attack a friend's door with notes telling them all the things you love about them.
- Create a family time capsule and store it in a safe place to open in a few years.
