Board of Trustees News
New Board Chairperson
We are delighted to announce that Cassie Warburton has been elected as the new Board Chairperson for 2022. Cassie has been a member of the board since 2019 and a Stanley Avenue School parent since 2010. Cassie is married to Tim and has two sons, Liam and Michael. Liam is Year 12 at Te Aroha College and Michael is Year 8 at Stanley Ave. Cassie works locally as a Planner for GeoMetrix. We know Cassie will do a great job and that the school community will support her.
Outgoing Board Chairperson
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Mark Baillie, the outgoing Board Chairperson for his outstanding contribution to Stanley Avenue School. Mark worked tirelessly in his role and always had the Stanley Avenue learner as his first priority. During Mark’s time as Board Chairperson a number of key property initiatives were carried out and a clear strategic direction was evident. We wish Mark and his family well in their future endeavours.
Whānau Survey
Today we will be sending out a Google Form Survey about our School Progressions. This is part of our internal evaluation and really helps us gather important information to keep improving what we do for our students and their whānau.
It is a 3 question survey and we would really appreciate it if you could take the time to answer this survey. It is important whether you know anything or not just to give us honest feedback. We really appreciate the time this will take you.
Service Leaders 2022
2022 Swimming Sports for 8 - 12 year old Students
We will be holding our Swimming Sports on Wednesday 2nd March, although this will be split between our School Pool and Te Aroha College College Pool as we did last year. Those swimmers that have chosen to swim Championship races will walk to the College and will have Swimming Sports there during the morning. The other children will be swimming here at school in the school pool for their Swimming Sports.
The only people who can accompany us to the College Pool are staff and the officials that are helping with the swimming. The only people that are allowed onsite at Stanley Avenue for the Swimming Sports will be the staff.
If you are a double vaccinated adult and are willing to help with the Swimming Sports, please contact the office or myself asap.
Please ensure that your child brings their togs, towels and other swimming gear on Wednesday to take part in their Swimming Sports whether it is at School or at the College.
All children will need to be at school at the normal time.
Championship Swimmers leave for the College at approximately 9.15am.
Swimmers will return as soon as the race programme is finished before lunchtime.
Thank you for your support
