A message from the Principal-Mrs. Bookman
To the Suffield Family:
Because the weather in Ohio has been so lovely, I have decided that we should start Spring Break a week early so that everyone has time to enjoy it!.....................APRIL FOOLS!!!!! I hope you had some fun today and that someone made you laugh! I enjoyed some brownies today....BROWN E's.....(the letter E cut from a brown paper).....and got a special gift in a Santa bag.....it was full of tissue paper and a toilet paper roll with April Fools written on it! Such simple fun! Mother nature fooled us, too! Snow again this morning! Actually, we have one more week of school before Spring Break begins on April 11th.
Today your child's report card will be coming home with them. Please take the time to review it and praise your child for their efforts. If you have questions or concerns, please be sure to email your child's teacher. We are now into the last quarter of the school year. Wow, did that go fast!
Next week is Autism Awarenss week. Please see the message below about how your child can take part in this special week.
If you have a student who is ready to start kindergarten next year, please visit this link to sign up. Please share the link with other friends or family members you know who might need it!

Counselor's Corner- A Note From Miss Livers
The internet and technology have become such a wonderful tool for schools, businesses, and families, especially right now with the pandemic. But it also has its negatives as well, especially for our students. We want to bring awareness about the dangers of overuse of technology as well as dangerous websites and apps that kids should not be on. Setting boundaries and expectations, having open discussions about technology and safety with your students are important. The more you have an open dialogue with your students about technology, the more they will be willing to confide in you and come to you if there is a problem.
Here are some tips for setting those expectations: When developing a plan for technology use, consider your child’s input. Although you are the parent and ultimately are the one to set and enforce expectations, getting input from your child can help them to feel valued in the process. A great way to do this is to create a technology plan or contract that you both contribute to. When talking about expectations for technology, it is important again to involve your child. Ask your child what he/she thinks the consequences of misuse should be. Establishing these expectations ahead of time will allow for fewer arguments and misunderstandings if/when something does happen.

Birthday Treats-MUST be prepackaged, ONLY
At this time, we will allow Birthday Treats to be brought to school. We are required to inform you of the Healthy Eating Guidelines (see below) and suggest that you use this when selecting a treat. Whatever you choose, please note that all treats brought to school for the purpose of sharing with others, need to be prepackaged so we are able to know and see the ingredients list. There are many students who have a variety of food allergies and having the ingredients listed helps the school nurse determine if a student with allergies can eat a particular treat.
