What is a homologous structure?
Represents variations on a structual theme of there common ancsestor. The arms, forelegs, flippers, and wings of diffrent mammals.
even though they have become adpted for diffrent functions, the forlimbs of all mammals are constructed from the same basic skeletal elements. one large bone attached to two smaller bones attached to several small bones, attached to aproximitly five digits or phalanges.
