Hello Brophy Community,
MCAS season has arrived!! For this years 3rd graders, this will be the first time they take the MCAS test. For 5th graders they will be taking the Science Technology and Engineering test for the first time. In an effort to decrease nerves around testing, I visited every single 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade classroom to explain what MCAS is. They even learned what the letters stand for. Do you know what they stand for? Check out the slideshow linked below- this is the slideshow I presented when visiting classrooms. Not only will you learn what the letters M-C-A-S stand for, you will also learn a little more about their experience in school with MCAS. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Jessica Mandes
How You Can Help
- ensure your student gets a good nights rest. You will be receiving a reminder text message the day before your students test session.
- make sure they eat a good breakfast. If your student does not eat breakfast at home, encourage them to eat at school.
- Do not put too much emphasis on the test. Just remind them that all information is in their brain. They just have to try their best.
- Ask them how it went and provide them words of encouragement.
