Third Grade Reading and Social Studies
Welcome to Ms. Forbes' Class!
What We're Studying Right Now
What we're studying during the first six weeks
Reading ~ During the first six weeks of school, we will begin Unit 1 in reading, which focuses on fiction and the corresponding reading skills. We will study Phonics in class. After we have practiced how to do stations, we will begin having a guided reading time everyday. This is a time where I will read with small groups of students and practice their reading. The other students will complete stations, which will reinforce their reading skills as well. We will start learning how to write in cursive. We will have writing lessons during CORE builder and also some additional reading practice as needed during this time.Social Studies ~ In social studies, we will be focusing on communities for the first six weeks.
