Purpose: Serving school teams in moving from awareness to implementation of the Essential Instructional Practices in Early Literacy, Grades K-3
Description: Join us to plan your literacy professional learning for the year. This 2-Day Institute is designed for school teams to enhance their ongoing professional learning around the Essential Instructional Practices in Early Literacy, Grades K-3. This is an exciting next step as we strive to support the real work happening in schools across Michigan.
Learn with researcher Dr. Nell K. Duke about the K-3 Literacy Essentials
Develop/enhance the ongoing literacy professional learning plan for your school or district with guidance from Dr. Susan L’Allier
Receive support throughout the 2019-20 school year through quarterly webinars with literacy and leadership researchers, online Q & A sessions with expert panels, collaborative networking and more.
Choose to attend June 19 & 20, 2019 - OR - June 24 & 25, 2019
WHEN: 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. both days (lunch is provided)
WHO: This is a team institute. We request that those who attend together have the ability to make decisions around professional learning for a school or district.
A block of hotel rooms are reserved on a first-come basis. Please see links near the bottom of this flyer. Rooms are at a rate of $85 a night. Rooms will not be covered, and are to be paid for by participants.
Why Teams? This training and yearlong support is designed for a team of school leaders like principals, coaches and lead teachers to learn deeply and use that learning to create and carry out a professional learning plan for the school or district.
Be sure to register for only ONE 2-day session. The work on June 19 & 20 will be identical to the work on June 24 & 25. Participants from both sessions will receive the same options for yearlong support.
