Our FOCUS this week:

1. Find volunteers and host Spring UIL Event (April 26, 27, 28)

2. Purchase tickets for Band Banquet. No tickets sold at the door. Deadline is Friday, April 29th.

3. Sign-Up Genius to recruit helpers for Band Banquet.


Our FOCUS next week:

1. FBBC meeting on Tuesday, May 3rd. All outgoing and incoming officers required to attend to exchange phone numbers and pass on binders.

2. Wind Ensemble performs at U of H Moore’s Opera House Saturday, May 7th 1-2 pm.

Volunteers for Spring UIL Event (April 26, 27, 28)

Since the new CLHS building opened, we have had the privilege to host Region 17 UIL Concert and Sight-Reading Evaluation. This has been both convenient and advantageous, as students only miss a few hours of class time, and we get to play on our home court. We have always enjoyed great parent support and parent volunteers for this event. If we do not continue to get such strong volunteer support, we will no longer be able to host this event, and in future years the band students will have to get on buses and go to another school to perform their UIL music. Please consider signing up for a volunteer shift so that UIL Concert and Sight-Reading can continue to be hosted at Clear Lake HS.


Parents are more than welcome to come and watch their child’s performance this Tuesday. Parents are also welcome in the sight-reading room (band hall), which will take place immediately following their stage performance. They can park in back and go in through the main PAC entrance, where there will be a place to sign in.

Purchase Tickets for Band Banquet

Tickets are still on sale for the band banquet! Tickets are $20 per person (the 27 senior students will attend FREE of charge). The flyer shown below describes the details! Your student received a paper copy in band class. However, if it did not make it home please click on the link to print your own copy. Cut-off the bottom indicating your food choices, staple your check, and place in the black box outside of the band director’s office in the band hall. Deadline is April 29th.

Next FBBC Meeting

Meeting will be on Tuesday, May 3rd at 7:00 pm in the band hall. Set an alert to make sure you attend so that we can have a quorum to do the following:


  • Vote to elect next year’s FBBC Board officers
  • Vote on the proposed amendments to the By-Laws
  • Vote on end of year budget amendments
