Bus routes are now available
The current morning routes are posted on the IWCS website at https://www.iwcs.k12.va.us/apps/pages/busroutes
All students should be at their stop 10 minutes before the bus is scheduled to arrive.
As of 8/24/23, the published routes are preliminary and some will be revised out of necessity. They are not yet finalized and will be adjusted as needed. Revisions may include changes to bus stops, times, bus numbers, and altering the routes themselves. Please be patient as we work through the necessary changes and know that safety, efficiency, and adhering to Board policy are primary goals of the Transportation Department. Please check the web site frequently for any updates.
FYI: IWCS does not post drop off times due to the variation based on when the buses leave school. The drop off times will become more consistent after the first week of school.
Whenever possible, bus stops will placed at a street corner. Bus stops are designed to be no more than 2/10 (.2) miles from a student's home, per School Board policy. Parents are encouraged to walk elementary school students to and from the bus stop. All stop times are approximate and can vary based on conditions such as traffic, road conditions, and new stops based on student enrollment changes.
