My Challenge to You

Tomorrow brings the last full staff development day of the school year. There are a variety of activities and learning sessions planned for you along with a couple of mandatory trainings built in. As with any professional development session what you get out of it is up to you. You will find what you look for.

I encourage you to make the most of the time that you have to learn along side of your fellow teachers. Keep an open mind and be willing to self reflect upon what you are currently doing in your professional practice.

I look forward to learning along side everyone and taking what we discuss tomorrow and put it into practice at AMCMS. I hope you are looking forward to it as well.

Think. Achieve. Succeed.

Jeff

As you may or may not know there is a group of school districts that make up the Texas High Performance School Consortium (THPSC) and College Station is a part of this consortium. Click here to see more about this group of Texas Public Schools.

The work of the THPSC is to transform education. Part of the transformation process is changing how we assess out students. The shift is moving away from assessment OF learning and moving toward assessment FOR learning.

Stephanie Ryon has written a guest blog for TASA (Texas Association of School Administrators) over real time, classrooms feedback and assessment that demonstrates real examples of Assessment FOR Learning. You should click the link below and check it out!

What is ThingLink?

ThingLink is an interactive media platform that empowers educators to create more engaging content by adding rich media links to photos and videos.

How to Thinglink.

I used Thinglink to make an interactive picture of Paul Revere's famous engraving of the Boston Massacre.
