summer technology info:
MISD is proud to provide our students with opportunities to learn all year through access to 1:1 devices and tools. All students finishing 3rd grade and up will have their school-issued device available for use all summer. (Incoming 3rd graders will be issued their 1-to-1 laptop use until middle school when the 21-22 school year begins, and kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd-grade students will have again have access to devices in classrooms.)
Each device is cataloged and checked out to individual students through the campus library and all students should bring their laptops with them when school resumes for the 2021-22 school year on August 12, 2021.
All MISD student laptops are managed by the district and have an attached content filter that travels with the device. Technology support for issues pertaining to student laptops can be directed to the MISD technology department during their summer hours. Any damage incurred to the laptop during the summer break will still incur an “incident” on your child’s record as it pertains to the student assurance fees paid for the 2020-21 school year.
Please keep your device charged and, as always, keep it clean and away from food and water. It is important that your computer is in good working order when school begins. Be sure to reach out for technical support if your computer is damaged or lost over the summer so you can be prepared for learning in August.

Please note that any students that will not be attending school in McKinney ISD for the 21-22 school year need to return their laptop and charger to the McClure Learning Commons on the last day of school. If you move out of the district over the summer, devices should be returned to McClure if our building is open (call 469-302-9400 to verify someone is in the office to let you in), or to the Summer Student Tech Support Center at Faubion Middle School.
