Springs Studio for Academic Excellence, April Edition
A Note from Executive Principal, Mr. Knoche
Meet our Newest Staff Members
Mike Masino, Student Success Coach for High School
I would like to introduce Mr. Mike Masino! Mike has lived in Colorado for the last 15 years. He was born in New York but raised in Hawaii. He is the youngest sibling of three, and his mom will be turning 91 years old this year.
He loves to hike and is a massive fan of the Florida Gators. His favorite kind of food is seafood, and his favorite movie is Rocky 1. His bucket list contains traveling to Italy and Hawaii, running the stairs in Philidephia that were in the Rocky movie, as well as flying a fighter jet someday. One fun fact about Mike is that he gets mistaken for Coach K from the Duke Blue Devils. We are so excited to have Mike on board and know that he will be a great addition to springs studio.

Staci Kulbacki, Student Success Coach for Middle School
I would like to introduce Staci Kulbacki! Staci is originally from Chino Hills, CA, where she met her husband of 21 years and moved to CO 16 years ago. She, along with her husband, four girls, ages 12, 14, 16 and 18, and 3 dogs live in Falcon. So, if you are in the area and run into her, be sure to say Hello! One of her favorite things to do is spend as much time as possible with her children and won’t miss a game of theirs if she can help it! Watching them do the activities that they love brings her so much joy. If you don’t see her at one of her girl’s games, you can catch her on a softball field doing what she loves, playing softball! She spent most of her young adult life being on the mound as a pitcher!
If she could be anywhere, it would be putting her toes in the sand at the beach enjoying the sunshine and listening to the sound of the waves. Her favorite food is Italian, and her most preferred drink is a coffee shake from Baskin Robbins!
Something you may not know about Staci is she is fantastic at skateboarding and loves sunflowers.
Staci has worked with kids of many ages and has a knack for making quick connections! She has such a calming, kind spirit that draws everyone near. I am so excited for you to meet her and am confident she will be such a great asset to Springs Studio!

Virtual Counseling Support
If students are in need of counseling support for social or emotional concerns while we are not in the building we have several options. Please reach out to your grade level counselor below to let them know you need support. We have recently hired a social worker, Regina Eslick, who will also be a great resource during this time.
We can offer students Counseling support in a variety of ways:
Email, Google Chat, Texting (Counselors have district cell phones), Phone calls, or via Zoom sessions. Zoom sessions with students for emotional counseling or check-ins will have 2 Counseling staff members present.
Parent Notification:
If your student reaches out to a Counselor for support, Counselors will notify the parent via email to ensure you are aware they would like support. Parents will need to reply to the email to give permission for their student to receive Virtual Counseling support.

"Virtual" Lunch with the Principal (Middle School Students)
Student voice matters! I want to offer an opportunity for students to meet in a small group with me, Mr. Knoche, to share their experiences and help shape and refine the climate and culture of Springs Studio. I am looking for 12 students (different each month) to meet with me and share ideas. Please sign up and bring ideas about how we can improve, tweak, or address certain issues at Springs Studio. This is a solution-minded get together, so you have to bring solutions if you have concerns.
I look forward to meeting with everyone.
"Virtual" Coffee with the Principal
We want to invite parents to join us for "Virtual" Coffee with the Principal. A relaxed setting to have some great conversations about SSAE. We would love for you to bring questions, concerns, or suggestions about SSAE to our meeting.
I will send out a link to everyone who signed up for the Virtual meeting as it gets closer.
We are looking forward to conversations about improving student success!
