8th Grade Graduation Letter

As mentioned last week, a letter went home with 8th graders about expectations and behavior. This needs to be signed by a parent/guardian and is due back to your student’s science teacher this Friday, December 13.

Principal's Coffee

Our next Principal’s Coffee is this Thursday, December 12. I will share the data from our first Language Arts IAB that students took at the end of October, there will be an update on social emotional learning, and RCSD police have been invited to come answer any kinds of questions you might have. We will conclude by touring 8th grade classrooms.

Music Concert

Great job to all of our music students who performed in the Winter Concert last Thursday. We are very proud of you! Our concerts are getting so popular that we need a bigger gym! Thank you again to our outstanding and hardworking music teacher, Julia Federico-Youngs. I also want to acknowledge the efforts of Erinn Washburn, one of our District music teachers, who has been working with our many of our Beginning Band students. Thank you to all of our families and staff for helping to make this event (and the Wednesday dress rehearsal) possible. This truly was a team effort.

No School Reminder

A reminder that next week on Friday, December 20, we have no school and begin our winter break which goes through Tuesday, January 7. Thursday, December 19, is a regular minimum day with dismissal at 1:30 pm. Students return from break on Wednesday, January 8. The new Office/Family Center is set to open that first day back on January 8.

Congratulations to Julia Fernandez who was selected as one of the winners of the Historic Union Cemetery Photography Contest. Her photo will be on display at the Redwood City Main Library in January. Below is the photo.

Extra Shirts

We are looking for gently used long and short sleeve shirts that you don’t want anymore to use for dress code issues. (No red shirts please). It’s okay if they are a bit big. They are not meant to be stylish. Please wash them and donate them to the office.

SamTrans Survey

Do you or your child ride the SamTrans bus to work or school? Would you like to see more bus routes in Redwood City? SamTrans is currently analyzing all of its routes which will result in a new bus system in 2021. Weigh in with your ideas by taking the Reimagine SamTrans survey below.
