August 2020 HHASD Newsletter

Inspire. Persevere. Grow.

Greetings HHASD Family!

The administrative team reviewed the preliminary Return to School plan on June 20th with the School Board. Since that time we have sent out an additional survey to parents and staff to finalize our recommendations for the beginning of the 2020/21 school year. We have also continued to meet with our educational partners, area districts, and the Washigton-Ozaukee Health Department to continue to refine our plan.

On Monday evening, we will review the final plan with the School Board. They will further act on this on Monday night. In the attached video, we explain the basics of the plan, mitigation steps we are taking, and upcoming events that will help prepare us for the 2020/21 school year.

Please note, this video was filmed prior to the Governor's Order, which means some of the information will require updating at the board meeting on August 3rd.

HHASD Facial Coverings

The Governor's 7/30/2020 Order makes facial coverings mandatory. Come back to school in style! Masks and Gaiters are $4.25 each. Place your order by filling out this survey at this link. Orders due August 6th. Questions? Email kastner@hhasd.org.

Our original plan required facial coverings in certain situations for school next month. However, on Thursday, Gov. Tony Evers issued a new public health emergency and a mandate that people wear a mask while indoors. Under the mandate, effective Saturday, those 5 and older are required to wear a face covering when they’re inside or an enclosed space, other than a private residence, and around those who aren’t members of their household. His executive order also strongly recommends face coverings in other settings, including outdoors, when it isn’t possible to maintain social distancing.

The district will be providing one face mask to each student and staff member. These should be washed daily to help mitigate risk. We ran a sale for custom logo facial coverings earlier this summer. The sale was such a hit, we are running it one more time. If you would like to purchase these facial coverings, you can do so this week. Masks are double layered with a filter pocket and a single length of paracord (not ear loops) to ensure a good fit. Masks and Gaiters are $4.25 each. Place your order by filling out this survey. Payment will be collected at delivery. Orders are due Augut 6th. Email kastner@hhasd.org with questions.
