Week 7 Term 2 Panui

Wednesday - 7th June 2023

Principal Message

Ngā mihi nui ki a koutou katoa. Greetings to you all.

Thank you for your support with the early finish last week due to the Primary Teachers Paid Union Meeting. The Secretary of Education waived the normal requirement for 14 days notice to table a new offer for consideration ahead of planned industrial action. I am pleased to report that the revised offer has now been accepted resolving this prolonged negotiation.

This week we celebrated our wonderful Support Staff (groundsman, office staff, teacher aides and Reading Recovery Teacher) who are so pivotal in our organisation. Thank you to each of them for going above and beyond on a daily basis to make Witherlea the wonderful place it is for our students.

Yesterday we held our first Witherlea Swimming Sports for children in years 3-6 at the Stadium. It was great to see so many parents get along and support this event and we thank those who helped out in the running of it. Our students did us incredibly proud both in the water and through their exceptional behaviour on the sideline. Certificates will be presented to place getters at assembly on Monday. Congratulations to Room 21 and 19 who won their respective class relays securing bragging rights!
