FT. SUMTER: APRIL 1861
The First Battle of Fort Sumter opened on 12 April 1861, when Confederate artillery fired on the Union garrison. These were the first shots of the war, and continued all day, watched by many civilians in a celebratory spirit. The fort had been cut off from its supply line, and surrendered next day.It was the beginning of the civil war. A bloodless battle to start the most bloodiest war in U.S. history.
GETTYSBURG: 1863
was fought July 1–3, 1863, in and around the town of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, by Union and Confederate forces during the American Civil War. The battle involved the largest number of casualties of the entire war. which was also one of the bloodiest battles in the civil war and after Abe Lincoln gave the Gettysburg Address.
EMERGENCE OF KKK: 1865
Founded in 1866, the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) extended into almost every southern state by 1870 and became a vehicle for white southern resistance to the Republican Party’s. They were racist terrorist that tried to maintain democratic control in the South and to keep former saves powerless.

A political change from Fort Sumter is it started the war that would turn our government against each other and the government in the south gained a new president. A economical change is that it started a war that would make the U.S. into the debt and would destroy farms so the people wouldn't be able to trade. And a social change was that people had to stop farming and stopped working in factories and started training for war and there was a huge population loss from all the people dying in this war.
