From the Principal

Happy Holidays to all of you!

Our assessments for winter are almost completed as I write to you this week and the students are growing. Some students gained more points than expected, and we are proud of their hard work. The teachers and staff are working incredibly hard to close the COVID gaps that have been presented to our students. Some students are spending extra time on Moby Max activities, reading books at home, listening to stories, practicing sight words and setting goals to improve their school behaviors. Thank you for encouraging work before play as often as you can. It is helping our students grow. You will receive the assessment report with their report cards after January 7th.

We have just a couple of days before the holiday break and we know that we have many things to accomplish and we also will throw some fun in the mix as well. Our Title staff are working with small groups to support those who need it most, but will soon change groups and possibly your child will be chosen. Please check your child's backpack for notes and activities that will encourage great growth.

We will be holding holiday parties in classrooms only and unfortunately with no parent volunteers again this year. I am sure your child's teacher will try to include you with pictures or helping to cover the cost of fun items for the classroom parties. If you have questions, please reach out to your child's teacher.

At this point, your child still needs a MASK everyday and it helps if you add their name in it so if found we can return it to the student. When that mandate changes, we will let you know. We are continuing to use our mitigation strategies, and some of our students are now vaccinated. We hope that everyone in our school can stay healthy over the break.

THANK YOU, to all of you for helping us motivate and educate your children! As we move into a couple of weeks of vacation, we wish you rest, relaxation and a renewed strength to persevere with us for the months ahead. (Maybe even a couple extra minutes of reading books) We have no idea what the future will hold or what we will accomplish in the months we return, but we are so thankful that you are on this journey with us.

As we bring in the year 2022 together, thank you for your continued support. We will continue to serve our students and families the best we can safely and with high expectations for learning and achieving.

We have a fun week planned for December 13-17 so check out the attachment. Remember we also have 2 -1/2 days of school on Thursday and Friday, because it is the end of the semester. Please send your child to school on those days, we need them to count :)

From the bottom of my heart, I cherish all of you and your children this holiday season. Happy New Year!

FIELD TRIPS

***Safety Concern***

We are trying to include some field trips this year, but we need to remind you that it is very important that volunteers are careful NOT to take pictures of other children and post them on Social Media. We, as a school, know which students have authorization to post pictures of and if you are accompanying us on a trip you may only take photos of your own child. Thank you for helping to keep all our students safe, at all times, including fun field trips.
