KMS Mission Statement
Welcome to Krum Middle School
Greetings Bobcat Families,
Last week was another wonderful week at KMS. On Monday our students participated in our 2nd grade level assemblies. The topic this week was responsible use of the internet and social media. It was very informative to see how our students are using social media and their level of knowledge of both the good and bad of social networks. Our hope is that students have a better knowledge of both the positive and negative ramifications of social media so they are better prepared to leave a positive digital footprint and be safer social media consumers. Our track teams represented KMS very well last week at the Zone 1 track meet. Both the Bobcats and the Ladycats advanced several athletes to this week’s Meet of Champions. Our KMS Choir sang very well at District UIL earning a superior rating in sight-reading and bringing home a trophy! We also had numerous students represent KMS proudly at the Denton County Youth Fair.
As we start the month of April extracurricular activities begin to wind down and our attention focuses on state assessments which begin on April 10th. Students and teachers will be busy this week finishing up lessons, reviewing learning objectives, and discussing strategies to help our students do their best on the STAAR test. Progress reports will also go home on Friday. For the past several months we have been focusing on characteristics such as kindness, empathy, and compassion. This month we will shift our focus to gratitude. I will begin by sharing that I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the KMS community as your principal. Over the next month we will challenge our students to focus on things for which they are grateful. Our goal is to make KMS even better though an attitude of gratitude. I hope you and your family had a wonderful Easter Weekend and I wish a great week ahead for us all.
Go Bobcats!
