Classroom Resources for the Holidays
Some of the links below have some fun things that might be helpful for you to use in your classroom!
Hanukkah
This year Hanukkah is December 7 - December 15. Hanukkah, also referred to as Chanukah, celebrates the rededication of the second Jewish temple in Jerusalem. For more information about the religions commonly practiced in your community, explore the Pew Research Center's Religious Landscape Study.
Christmas
Christmas is an annual festival commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ, observed primarily on December 25 as a religious and cultural celebration among billions of people around the world. It is preceded by a feast central to the Christian liturgical year.
Kwanzaa
Kwanzaa is a seven-day festival celebrated in appreciation of African and African American history, heritage, and culture. The festival is observed from December 26th – January 1st. Each of these seven days’ honors particular principles which are thought to have been fundamental in promoting strong, productive communities and families in Africa.
Wildcat Badges
1. Wildcat Badges(Class compliments): Each week we will focus on a school wide goal ex. Walking quietly in the halls. The principal or the assistant principal will do a weekly morning announcement with goal for the week. It is the teacher’s responsibility to inform the office by responding to the form if your class was successful that week earning their badge. Your class will then display your badge on your door or wherever you choose.
Last week Wildcats show Empathy!!
*** We now have students passing them out as part of their meaningful work jobs!
12/4- 12/8 Wildcats are Patient!
New Staff/Best Wishes
Ms. Jamerika's last day was this past Wednesday. We were so sad to see her go. She had a wonderful opportunity that she couldn't pass up. We are in the process of looking at candidates to fill that role.
Welcome Jessica Gessner to the Inter SC. Jessica has been subbing with Lora for a while now. We are excited to officially have her join CA! Stop by and say hello.
Crystal Routh will also be joining Lora's SC room soon. She is studying to be a teacher and her passion is working students.
November/December C.A.R.E
We will be celebrating our November and December C.A.R.E award winners on December 15th.
The end of the month is nearing which means time for our CARE Assembly!
I am needing nominations from you, please send back your nominations so that I may get in contact with their family to attend and see their Wildcat get recognized!
WILDCAT AWARD: Each month, teachers will nominate 1 student for going above and beyond, making great strides in effort, making personal academic growth, or great improvement in academics (any area/teacher choice). These students will receive a Wildcat Certificate noting the academic area for which they are being recognized with a statement provided by the teacher and placed on the back of the student's certificate. These students will also receive a Pizza with the principal.
CARE AWARD: Each month, teachers will nominate up to 3 students for a C.A.R.E. certificate. These students will receive a CARE (Kiwanis) Certificate for C.A.R. or E., pencil, and bumper sticker. Student names will be printed for you to sign and present to your students at the assembly. Every student should get an award at least once during the school year. Teachers do not need to continue recycling through the class roster for repeat CARE nominations but may reduce the number of students to 2 each month so at least one student is nominated each month of the year. Feel free to adjust the number of recipients as you see fit,
Thank you! 😊
