EXCITING OPPORTUNITIES FOR PARENTS!
We Are Halfway Through Our 100 Day Campaign!
It was great to see SO many Panther Parents at Back to School Night! Thank you very much to all of you who’ve already donated to the 100 Campaign to raise vital funds for our school. Congrats to all who won in the raffle!
We are now halfway through the 100 day campaign but are showing ONLY 20% PARTICIPATION OUT OF OUR 1700 STUDENT POPULATION. So far we have raised approximately $34,000 of the $100,000 goal. We need your help to avoid having to cut vital programs. Click here to donate today!
Wondering how much to give? Consider matching what you paid for summer camps or sports registrations or music/dance/etc. lessons for your student in the past year, or giving whatever you’re able. Many hands make light work and all gifts of every amount make a difference. Remember the goal is 100% of families giving in the first 100 days to raise $100k for our amazing school. Thank you so much for generously investing in CCMS.
With Gratitude,
Your Fellow Panther Parents on the PTSA & Panther Partners Boards

Volunteers needed for the Backpacks for Kids Program

This programs runs out of CCMS with volunteers that pick up and drop off backpacks to each school in our district. We are looking for volunteers to be in front of CCMS to collect empty backpacks on Wednesdays, 8:30-9:30am, and to help load filled backpacks in to cars in front of CCMS on Fridays, 8:30-9:30am. Please email Connie at cslwong123@gmail.com if you can help. Thanks!

Copy Room Volunteers Needed
Are you looking for a way to get involved at CCMS? Do you like helping out your kids’ teachers? If so the PTSA is looking for volunteers to work in the copy room this year. This is a great way to get to know the campus and the staff. You must be a cleared volunteer and be willing to commit to a hour or two once a week or every other week.
Please contact Allison Herbst (asherbst@me.com) if you are interested.
Help CCMS by volunteering in the CCMS Student Store!
The CCMS Student Store is an extremely important source of revenue for the PTSA - and a great way to get a peek into what's happening with CCMS students during their lunch hour and right after school! So why not volunteer to work the CCMS Student Store?! It's open daily for students to buy snacks at lunch and after school, PE clothes, and Spirit Wear and we need lots of parents to staff it. Please take advantage of this chance to be on campus and volunteer today! Sign up here! Please make sure to check your Volunteer Clearance with the office prior to signing up to help.

Ballona Creek Bike Path Closed for Maintenance
WHEN: Monday, September 23 to Friday, September 27, 8 AM to 4 PM
WHERE: Ballona Creek Bike Path
Starting on Monday, September 23, Culver City’s Ballona Creek Bike Path will be closed from 8 AM to 4 PM for routine maintenance taking place between National Boulevard and Overland Avenue. The path will reopen on Friday, September 27.
Over the five-day maintenance period, the City of Culver City’s Public Works Department will repair pavement, clear vegetation, remove graffiti and repair fencing along the bike path. Construction vehicles and equipment will block the path at varying points, greatly limiting traveler access. Therefore, the City advises the community to take alternative routes, including:
- Accessing Overland Avenue from Jefferson Boulevard, Culver Boulevard, Farragut Avenue or Braddock Drive
- Culver City's other bike paths
For inquiries, please contact Public Works Maintenance Operations Manager Eric Mirzaian at eric.mirzaian@culvercity.org or (310) 253-6444.

CCMS PTSA Bylaws Update
Every two years the PTSA is required to update their bylaws and post the changes for the Association to review. We will be voting on these recommended changes at our November meeting. Only current PTSA members will be allowed to vote, and all voting must be done in person as PTA guidelines do not allow for proxy voting. Our proposed changes have already been approved by the California State PTA. If you would like to review the proposed changes, please find them under the "Files" section at the bottom of the PTSA page on the CCMS website.

Pay Attention to Attendance:
Keep Your Child On Track in Middle and High School
Showing up for school has a huge impact on a student’s academic success starting in kindergarten and continuing through high school. Even as children grow older and more independent, families play a key role in making sure students get to school safely every day and understand why attendance is so important for success in school and on the job.
