Winterfest 2020 “Frozen in Time”
Congratulations to the Winterfest Royalty!!! Staff nominates students based on the following criterion and then this year, the Staff and Students voted to get a great representation of the following elements:
Academic Success-strives for good content and responsibility grades. At least a 3.0 cumulative g.p.a.
School Involvement-Is involved in a variety of activities, not necessarily sports
Character-Is a student who makes you proud as a staff member. They are helpful and kind. They represent GVHS well. Walks the walk and talks the talk. The really do exemplify the four pillars of Garfield 16 (Intellectual Development, Personal Wellness, Agency, Productive Citizenship).

Other Announcements
The GVHS Talent Show will be February 12th at 6:30pm in Cardinal Hall. Admission is $2 and all proceeds will be donated to the THIRST Project and Pennies for Patients. Come enjoy an evening out and support our local talent!
Sports/Activity Results:
Congratulations to all who participated in Solo & Ensemble over the weekend! Students perform for a judge and are rated a score from 1-5 with 1 being the highest score. Three GVHS students received at 1, and two GVHS groups received a 2! Fantastic scores all around.

-GV Girls’ Basketball defeated Coal Ridge and 63-54 lost to Delta 47-52. The Varsity is 9-4 overall and 2-2 in conference. The JV lost to Coal Ridge 35-55 and lost to Delta . The JV is 5-6 overall and 2-2 in conference. The Freshmen/Sophomore defeated Caprock 25-23. The Freshmen/Sophomore team is 3-2 in conference and 3-4 overall.
-GV Boys’ Basketball lost to Coal Ridge 45-57, defeated Delta 58-43 . The Varsity is 7-6 overall and 2-2 in conference. The JV lost to Coal Ridge 32-36 and to Delta 33-59. The JV is 5-6 overall and 0-4 in conference. The C-Team lost to Plateau Valley 35-45. The C-Team defeated Caprock 42-10 is 3-1 in conference and 5-4 overall.
Team Grand Valley WR dueled Moffat County on Tuesday. Here are the results:
Team Grand Valley Girls WR wrestled at the Girls Regional at Chatfield. Team scores weren’t taken.
