Textbook & Chromebook Pickup Details
School Issued Technology Info
Families are strongly encouraged to use a school-issued device because these devices are pre-loaded with all of the necessary applications and e-books. If you choose to use your own device, it is incumbent upon you to load all of the applications.
Current 7th and 8th graders will continue to use their school-issued devices already in their possession. Students experiencing trouble with their school issued technology can submit a help desk ticket here. 6th graders and new students were issued a device at our pickup event. See above for details if you missed this event. Read a one-pager here about how to get started on your chromebook.
Families must complete The LOSD Student/Parental Consent & Technology Form -- one form for each student. We now have an OPTIONAL technology device damage and loss protection plan for families. It is $20 per student, with a family maximum of $60. Please see losdschools.org for more details, including the LOSD FEE WAIVER available here.
If you need internet access, please contact John Parke at parkej@loswego.k12.or.us to request a hotspot.
Fee Waivers
Requests for resident fee waivers or fee reductions, except for the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), will be processed using the attached form. Please complete the form and submit it to the department or school which collects the applicable fee or fees.
School Supplies
With online learning to start the school year, we recommend headphones, graph paper (math / science) and basic supplies your student would like for Distance Learning (ie - paper, pencils, notebooks etc.).
We will update our supply list if/when we move closer to hybrid learning.
If families need support obtaining school supplies for Distance Learning, please contact your grade level counselor or cal our office at 503-534-2343.
Student Schedules
Due to the complicated nature of the Hybrid and Online schedule, schedule change requests are unlikely to be accommodated once the schedule is published. For the first 9 weeks of school (Quarter 1) students will attend only periods 1-4 on their schedule. Only periods 5-8 will meet during Quarter 2.
If there is an error in your schedule, you can contact your counselor or case manager.
Welcome 6th graders and families!
Welcome new students and families!
The week of the 31st: Ambassadors will meet in groups of 3-4 leaders and 3-4 new students via Zoom. This will take place throughout the week. Ambassadors will communicate with their orientation groups when this meeting will occur. They will welcome our new students, play a game, get to know one another, answer questions and present the orientation information.
Our counselors will be offering a welcome Zoom meeting for new parents on Friday from 12:00-12:30. Watch for a direct Zoom link from them in your email soon.
A Message from our Parent Club
The Lakeridge Middle School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) welcomes all LMS students and their families to the 2020-21 school year.
PTO is a volunteer organization that provides resources, programs, and support to Lakeridge Middle School students, teachers, and staff.
All LMS parents are automatically members of the PTO, and we define a parent as anyone who shares responsibility for the well-being of a student, including but not limited to: guardians, grandparents, a parent’s partner or siblings, extended family members, neighbors, friends, mentors, or a combination of the above.
As a PTO member, you have access to the PTO online directory and voting privileges on general PTO decisions. Your volunteer time and donations support enrichment opportunities for LMS students, resources for teachers, and support for LMS families.
Visit the PTO website here for news and updates, ways to get involved, attend a meeting, make a donation, or reach out for support. You also can follow PTO on Facebook and Instagram @lakeridgemiddlepto.
On behalf of the 2020-21 LMS PTO Board, we welcome you back to school and look forward to working with you this year.

Smart Start
Smart Start is coming up on September 4th, from 2PM-4PM via Zoom. We are excited that we have an opportunity to meet with your student before the school year starts. For those of you who are new to us, Smart Start is an opportunity specifically for our students with 504s and IEPs, and their parents and guardians, to make introductions with their teachers and to feel prepared for the start of school.
This year’s Smart Start meetings are all virtual. After schedules and class assignments are shared, you will receive information from your case manager about how to meet your teachers during our smart start window.
Teachers will be familiar with your student’s accommodations from the file given to them from your case manager. To help better know your students, please complete the attached one-page profile ahead of time and to give it to the teacher at the Smart Start introduction. It can be emailed to the teacher for reference during the virtual meeting if you like.
We are excited to get to know your student and you, and wish to help make school the best experience for them.
Verify student info before school starts
LOSD thanks all the parents who have already verified their students’ information for the 2020-21 school year. If you haven’t done so yet, please log into ParentVUE and review/update your student’s information through the Register/Verify tab. This benefits both families and schools by:
Ensuring that schools have accurate information to reach parents and other contacts in both emergency and non-emergency situations. Verification is important even if your contact information has not changed over the past year because the school may have incorrect information from a previous year.
Allowing parents to review the health conditions on file at your student’s school.
Enabling distribution of electronic devices covered by the district's Technology Agreement.
The verification window closes September 18, 2020.
If you have forgotten your ParentVUE password, go to the login page, click “I am a Parent,” then click “Forgot Password.” If you are unsure whether you have a ParentVUE account, contact the school. For assistance with the verification process, refer to the user guide on the LOSD website or contact the school.
